About Tale Trail
Tale Trail is a daily reading companion for children aged 5 to 8. It turns an ordinary morning routine into a trail of short stories: each job on the trail, like brushing teeth, making the bed, or feeding the dog, unlocks with a story written for your child's exact reading level, and they read it aloud to move along.
As your child reads, Tale Trail listens through the device microphone and follows along word by word. When a word proves tricky, it breaks into syllables with a patient audio helper that sounds the word out as many times as needed. There are no timers, no failure screens, and no pressure. Just steady, private practice. Finished stories earn stars towards rewards you set, and reading every day builds a streak.
Behind the scenes, stories are generated fresh each day to match your child's phonics stage, from first three-letter words through to fluent reading, and step up gradually as accuracy improves. Parents get a simple portal to set routines, choose rewards, and see how reading is progressing: which sounds are clicking and which need more practice.
Tale Trail is built by a dad in Sydney for his own two kids, and is currently in early access while it grows. It is free to use during this period.
